15 Times ‘Winnie the Pooh’ Taught Us Invaluable Life Lessons
Many of us have magical memories of reading A. A. Milne‘s Winnie the Pooh series as kids. Not only was reading about a boy’s adventures with a bear and his friends so enjoyable, but these deceptively profound stories never failed to capture our hearts. The characters in Winnie the Pooh — Christopher Robin, Piglet, Eeyore, and the other lovable Ashdown Forest residents — have stood the test of time, but so too have the many memorable Winnie the Pooh quotes that filled those pages. Read some of our favorite Winnie the Pooh quotes below, which still have much to teach us about friendship, music, kindness, love, and more. Just keep the tissues handy!
1. “…Poetry and Hums aren’t things which you get, they’re things which get you. And all you can do is to go where they can find you.”

5. “The things that make me different are the things that make me.”
6. “If people are upset because you’ve forgotten something, console them by letting them know you didn’t forget, you just weren’t remembering.”
7. “…he thought that if he stood on the bottom rail of the bridge, and leant over, and watched the river slipping slowly away beneath him, then he would suddenly know everything that there was to be known, and he would be able to tell Pooh, who wasn’t quite sure about some of it.”
8. “You’re braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think.”
9. “Sometimes the smallest things take up the most room in your heart.”
10. “A little Consideration, a little Thought for Others, makes all the difference.”

‘You don’t spell it, you feel it,’ said Pooh.”
13. “‘Pooh, promise you won’t forget about me, ever. Not even when I’m a hundred.’
Pooh thought for a little.
‘How old shall I be then?’
‘Ninety-nine.’
Pooh nodded.
‘I promise,’ he said.”
14. “I am not lost, for I know where I am. But however, where I am may be lost.”
15. “How lucky I am to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard.”
